Notes from the First Reactivation
Committee Meeting 12/20/07 at the Millcreek Inn
Attendance: Chris Castner, Sal Ranniello.
Joe Grohovsky, Mark Marseglia, Jeff Koch, Bryan Pfender, Tim McCall, Lee
Mason, Frank Conners, John Miller, Pat Mason, Dave Kasprzyk, John Vella,
Justin Zadnik.
Chris Castner gave opening words to the group
explaining what this meeting was about, the reactivation of the HRFC Men's
side.
Joe Grohovsky was introduced and shared his
thoughts about the rebirth of rugby in Lower Bucks. Joe
was able to provide info that he received from EPRU President Steve Cohen on
criteria needed to start up the men's side.
1. A
geographical need for the side.
2. $
contribution.
3. A
business plan, (who, what, where, how).
4. How
we are going to recruit, (convince the exec. board. we will not steal from
other clubs).
5.
There are two preliminary steps:
a. Recognized member.
b. Associate member.
Chris Castner asked the group if we wanted to
start a new club or reactivate the HRFC men's side. The group unanimously
voted to reactivate the HRFC men's side.
Joe shared the time frame of the EPRU's exec.
meetings of mid-January and mid-February.
Target
for mid-January's meeting:
a. Letter of need for reactivating the HRFC- Joe G.
b. List of club officers, (CIPP, recruiter, pres., sec.,etc.).
c. Roster: minimum of 35 CIPP'ed members.
d. Budget.
e. How we're going to recruit.
f. Field.
g. Coach.
h. Referee's.
Chris C. led the appointments of people to fill
the various positions on the committees:
1. Business
Plan: Joe Grohovsky (Chairman), Chris Castner, Justin Zadnik.
2. Recruitment:
Dave Kasprzyk (Chairman). Jeff Koch, John + Judy Miller.
3. Financial:
John Vella (Chairman). Chris Castner, Justin Zadnik.
4. Fields
and Coaching: Sal Ranniello (Chairman), Frank Conners, Joe Grohovsky.
The committees should meet in the coming week and
be ready to submit their findings by the second week of January. John
Miller will get a copy of the HRFC by-laws from Lino Giampaolo for the
business plan.
Target: Have this material ready for submission to
the EPRU executive committee by the February meeting. 35
CIPP names. Find out if there are
competing rugby clubs in our area looking to recruit.
